Our Beliefs: "Free"

The word "Free" in the name "Free Methodist" comes from a group of believers, within the Methodist Church in the 19th Century, who wanted to deal with three social ills of their time. These were Slavery, Renting/Selling Church Pews and Style of Worship. Since the Methodist Church wanted to avoid dealing with these social ills, this group of believers decided to address them on their own. As a result, they freed the people from their social ills by applying John Wesley's original warm-hearted, biblical message and lifestyle.
